Have A Stucco Project? Let Us Help!

There are many advantages of having a stucco facade, durability, versatility, and beauty to name just a few. Stucco is made from cement, and is therefore inherently durable and will outlast many other siding options. You don’t have to worry about minor impacts or hail storms damaging the surface. Stucco will stand up to almost anything you throw at it.

Stucco is also extremely versatile and can be molded and formed to just about any shape. It comes in a myriad of colors, and if these are not enough for you, the stucco can be painted any color that you like. The look of your finished stucco home is only limited by your imagination and the skill of the installation company. Stucco only has a couple of limiting factors that affect the finished look of the facade.  Stucco can not be applied to horizontal surfaces that are exposed to the elements, and there must be certain installation details incorporated into the system, such as weep screeds for drainage and expansion joints, which are visible after installation. Other than this, let your imagination run wild as the options are endless.

The only disadvantage of a stucco facade is the current “stucco stigma” that exists due to many homes having incorrectly installed stucco. When stucco is installed without the required flashings and drainage details, bad things can and do happen to the underlying structure. Stucco remediation can cost tens of thousands of dollars. But if installed correctly, it will look beautiful for many years to come.

(Pictured Above) After suffering substantial damage in 2020 caused by Hurricane Laura, Southgate Shopping Center underwent a renovation to repair and restore the structure. An important part of the Lake Charles community, it was critical that the shops remain open for business during the renovation. The design team determined that a system approach to the building exterior would reduce the impact on the community and achieve the project requirements.

The design team selected to install Senergy Sentry Stucco Ultra with MaxGrip Veneer Mortar, an impact and puncture resistant, cement plaster stucco system with enhanced water management. The system features MaxGrip Veneer Mortar, a high strength setting bed mortar used to adhere the stone and thin brick veneer.

The acrylic finish consists of colored aggregate and large black mica flakes to create a reflective stone finish. The Senerflex Classic PB EIFS delivers reduced energy costs and creates a weather-resistant barrier that provides crack-resistance.
